1. Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar is considered as world's greatest opening batsman and held the record of 34 Test centuries for almost two decades before it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar in December 2005.

2. Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar is known as the fastest bowler ever in the history of cricket and has bowled the fastest delivery officially recorded at a top speed of 161.3km/h. Akhtar was nicknamed the "Rawalpindi Express", as a tribute to his hometown and fast bowling.

3. Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj, better known as Kapil Dev, captained the Indian cricket team which won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Kapil Dev is one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He was India's main strike bowler for most of his career.

4. C K Nayudu

Cottari Kanakaiya Nayudu was the first captain of the Indian cricket team in Test matches. The Government of India awarded him Padma Bhushan in 1956. He played first-class cricket regularly till 1958, and returned for one last time in 1963 at the age of 68.

First ever century for India in one day internationals was scored by Kapil Dev, 175* against Zimbabwe, on 18 June 1983 at Nevill Ground in Tunbridge Wells in UK during Prudential World cup.

The first tournament was in 2007 in South Africa where India defeated Pakistan in the final. Irfan Pathan was awarded the Man of the Match for his spell, which included 3 wickets for 16 runs. Gautam Gambhir (75 from 54 balls) was the top scorer for India

10. Anil Kumble

Kumble is one of only two bowlers ever (the only other being Jim Laker of England in 1956) to have taken all ten wickets in a Test innings, taking 10 for 74. Kumble achieved this against Pakistan in the second Test played in Delhi in February 1999
